during pre-season friendly at St George’s Park, England.

Rangers welcome Dundee to Ibrox tonight for what should be another high-tempo, attacking display from Russell Martin’s side. After the 3–0 win over Viktoria Plzen in midweek, there’s little reason to change much in the starting XI – but the midfield could provide an interesting twist.

A Settled Defence and Attack

Jack Butland should keep his place between the sticks, with Max Aarons, Nasser Djiga, John Souttar, and Jefte forming a back line that looked solid and composed on Wednesday night. Up front, Oliver Antman and Djeidi Gassama bring pace and width on either flank, with Cyriel Dessers expected to continue through the middle after getting off the mark for the season.

Cameron’s Case for a Start

The biggest talking point comes in midfield. Lyle Cameron seized his chance against Plzen, bringing energy, forward runs, and a fearless approach that immediately won over the Ibrox crowd. The 21-year-old looked like he belonged on the European stage and has certainly put himself in contention to start again tonight.

Raskin’s Return

Nico Raskin, however, is also pushing for a recall. A key player with the vision and aggression to dictate games, Raskin has been one of Rangers’ most important midfielders when fit. His return could see Russell Martin reshuffle his central trio – and the question is whether there’s room for both Raskin and Cameron in the same XI.

Who Makes Way?

With Joe Rothwell’s role in linking play and driving transitions unlikely to be sacrificed, the most vulnerable spot might be Mohamed Diomande’s. The Ivorian has been a regular under Martin but could be the one to drop out if both Cameron and Raskin are to start. It’s a good problem to have – depth in midfield has been a luxury in recent seasons.

Setting the Tone for the League

While European football has dominated the early season focus, the Premiership remains Rangers’ bread and butter. Tonight’s game is a chance to set a marker, keep the tempo high, and ensure momentum continues ahead of the second leg in the Czech Republic next week.
