Rangers have confirmed the signing of Mikey Moore from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan (no option or obligation included), subject to international clearance. And make no mistake – this is a seriously exciting capture.
Still only 17, Moore arrives with a remarkable pedigree and more first-team experience than most players twice his age. The teenager’s career so far has been marked by record-breaking moments, Premier League debuts, and goals on the European stage – and now he’s ready to pull on the blue shirt and show the Ibrox faithful what he can do.
One of the EPL’s Top Young Talents
Moore is one of the hottest prospects in English football. Tottenham clearly rate him highly, having handed him a Premier League debut at just 16 years and 277 days – becoming Spurs’ youngest-ever Premier League player in the process. His first senior goal came on the European stage, smashing a 68-year-old record held by Jimmy Greaves to become England’s youngest-ever scorer in a major European competition.
Make no mistake – Rangers are getting a Premier League-ready attacker with genuine pedigree and potential.
I’m excited to get going. As soon as I heard Rangers were interested and wanted me to come, it was a massive opportunity for me… I’ve always loved Rangers as a club. My family have always loved them. I think with the new boss and the way that we play, it’s a great place to be at the minute.

What Can Rangers Fans Expect?
Moore is a brave, aggressive, left-sided attacker, equally capable of cutting inside or running at his full-back. He’s spent most of his young career on the left flank – and Tottenham are believed to be keen to see him develop there during his time in Scotland.
With that in mind, his arrival adds real depth to the left wing position for Russell Martin, and while he can operate across the front line, the plan will surely be to give him consistent minutes in his favoured role.
Expect quick feet, intelligent movement, and a player not afraid to take risks – and with that youthful fearlessness that fans at Ibrox always respond to.
His profile as a brave, aggressive attacking player is one that we were keen to add. He’s a player who, despite his age, can make an impact on the team from day one.

The Curtis Question
Naturally, questions will be asked about what this means for Findlay Curtis, who has impressed with his energy and direct play. But let’s be clear – Curtis is still developing and should see Moore’s arrival as an opportunity, not a setback.
This is a squad game, and with Europe, domestic league and cup action ahead, both players will have their chances. The competition should push Curtis to raise his game – and that can only be a good thing for Rangers.

Mikey Moore European Pedigree at Just 17
Moore’s career already includes appearances in the Premier League and in the Europa League:
- Premier League debut vs Man City
- Europa League debut and goal-scoring exploits
- Youngest player to start a league match for Spurs since 1993
- England youth international from U17s through to U19s
- Standout performer at the UEFA U17 Euros
At 17, he’s already played senior football in Europe, in the Premier League, and on the international stage. He brings with him a maturity well beyond his years.
There was significant interest from elsewhere in Mikey. He’s stepping into an ambitious, demanding environment… and we believe this will benefit both himself and the club.

When Will Mikey Moore Feature for Rangers?
Given the timing of the move and the need for international clearance, Moore is unlikely to feature this weekend. However, Rangers are expected to register him for the Champions League qualifiers, and while next Tuesday’s clash with Viktoria Plzen may come too soon, the return leg could be his debut.
Before that, there’s every chance he could get minutes when Rangers return to domestic action against Dundee at Ibrox on August 9 – and that could be a special introduction in front of a packed Govan crowd.
Mikey Moore Verdict: A Proper Statement Signing
This isn’t just a youth signing. This is a signing that says Rangers mean business. Bringing in a player with this level of top-level experience – while still a teenager – is a major statement by Russell Martin and the recruitment team.
Mikey Moore is the real deal, and Rangers fans should be buzzing to see what’s next.
